If charging does not take place as expected, the following might be the cause:
- Charging box offline
- Measurement device offline
- Too high load
- Wrong information about the car model
- Wrong settings
Charging box offline
If your Charge Amps Aura is load balanced and has lost connection, it will only be able to provide charging on one phase and at a limited speed.
Measurement device offline
If your measurement device (Charge Amps Amp Guard or another) has gone offline, your car will be able to charge on all phases but with a limitation.
Too high load
If the facility has too high consumption and the charging box is load balanced, charging will be limited. If you as an end customer do not have insight into your consumption, you can ask your partner for access to see this.
Wrong information about the car model
It is not uncommon that the car model does not charge as the user expected. On https://ev-database.org/ you can find most electric car models and how they charge. Otherwise, contact your car manufacturer.
Charging hybrids usually charge only 1-phase, some can charge 2-phase but none charge 3-phase.
Wrong settings
There is a risk that the load balancing is set incorrectly. If you are insure as an installer, Charge Amps offers Charge Amps Academy, a free online training programme for installers: https://www.chargeamps.com/charge-amps-installer-training/ as well as several guides that are sent out in connection with the acquisition of the partner account. If you do not have them, please contact support at support@charge-amps.com.
