If charging does not go as expected, the cause might be one of the following:
- Charging box offline
- Measurement device offline
- Excessive load
- Incorrect information about the car model
- Incorrect settings
Charging box offline
If your Charge Amps Halo is load balanced and has lost connection, it will only be able to charge on one phase and at a limited speed.
Measurement device offline
If your measurement device has gone offline, your car will still be able to charge on all phases but with a limitation.
Excessive load
If your current consumption is too high and the charging box is load balanced, charging process will be limited. If you are an end-customer and do not have access to information about your consumption level, please you ask your installer to check this.
Incorrect information about the car model
It is not uncommon for the car model not to charge as the user thought. At Electric Vehicle Database you can find most electric car models and how they charge. Otherwise, contact your car manufacturer if you cannot find what you are looking for.
Charging hybrids usually charge 1-phase. Some can charge 2-phase but none charges on 3-phase.
Incorrect settings
There is a risk that the load balancing is not set correctly. If you are an installer and have doubts about settings, Charge Amps has an online training course for installers. Feel free to register for free here. Several guides are also available in conjunction with the registering of a new partner account. Please do not hesitate to contact Charge Amps Support via our Support Form.
